The new girl in Cape Town is a bit strange. Her name has just one letter, H, and she has a weird birthmark behind her neck. When she plays her guitar, something magical happens that makes her an instant hero. But there is a greedy villain who wants to stop H from playing her guitar – H’s music messes up his plan to threaten the lives of all the residents of Cape Town. The OAKY series

The OAKY series of picture books for 4 to 9 year olds, follows the adventures of OAKY, an acorn that grows into a big oak tree.

There aren't many books for young children that are fun, educational and uplifting while simultaneously free of violence, gender stereotypes and racial stereotypes. The OAKY series seeks to fill this gap.

The books are magnificently illustrated by the talented Taryn Lock. Over 100,000 OAKY books have been sold or distributed through Read to Rise

The OAKY books can be bought from the publisher, Theart Press, or from online retailers as well as selected bookstores in South Africa. 100% of proceeds from the sale of OAKY books go to Read to Rise.
